The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety in Germany decided to grant to Gelinova financial support based on its innovative and sustainable production approach, saving significant volumes of energy and other natural resources compared to classical production processes.
Sustainable development is the guiding principle of the policy of the Federal Government of Germany. Sustainability aims to achieve generational equality, social cohesion, quality of life and the exercise of international responsibility.
Gelinova GmbH was established in 2001 in order to further develop the knowledge about gelatin, its application in the food and pharmaceutical industry and specialty application. From the very beginning Gelinova developed several international projects in this area but maintained at the same time a strong connection to its roots in the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg.
Dr.-Ing. Peter Koepff, chemical engineer and managing director of Gelinova - with decades of experience in gelatin industry and hard and soft gelatin capsule industry - recently decided to implement one of his patents, namely production of biofoils by extrusion.
Gelinova GmbH is now pioneering the application of this patent developed by Dr.-Ing. Peter Koepff.
